# What You Need:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 2 cups fresh dandelion petals and/or leaves, thoroughly washed (or 2 tablespoons dried)

03 - 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
04 - 1 slice lemon (optional, for brightness)

05 - Strain the tea through a fine mesh strainer into cups, discarding the solids. Add honey or lemon if desired and serve hot.

# Expert Hints:

01 -
  • Its completely free if you gather your own, plus there is something deeply satisfying about foraging your own tea ingredients
  • The flavor is surprisingly delicate and soothing, nothing like the bitter greens you might expect
02 -
  • Only harvest from areas you know have not been sprayed with chemicals or frequented by pets
  • The steeping time matters, less than eight minutes tastes weakly vegetal, more than ten gets unpleasantly bitter
03 -
  • A mix of flowers and leaves gives the most balanced flavor, flowers for sweetness and leaves for depth
  • If the taste is too bitter, add more honey or try harvesting from a different location as soil affects flavor
