02 - 8 large shrimp, peeled and deveined, tails on

→ Seasonings

03 - 1 tsp kosher salt
04 - 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
05 - 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

→ Garlic Herb Butter

06 - 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
07 - 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
08 - 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
09 - 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
10 - 1/2 tsp lemon zest

→ Cooking & Garnish

11 - 1 tbsp olive oil
12 - Lemon wedges, for serving
13 - Fresh parsley, chopped

# Steps:

01 - Pat steaks and shrimp completely dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika, pressing gently to adhere.
02 - Combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a small bowl. Mix thoroughly until fully incorporated and set aside.
03 - Heat large skillet or grill pan over high heat until smoking hot. Add olive oil and swirl to coat surface evenly.
04 - Place steaks in hot pan. Sear for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare doneness. Remove to plate and tent loosely with foil to rest for 5 minutes.
05 - Add seasoned shrimp to same pan. Cook 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque throughout. Do not overcook.
06 - Arrange rested steaks and shrimp on serving plates. Top generously with garlic herb butter. Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon wedges. Serve immediately.

# Expert Hints:

01 -
  • The garlic herb butter transforms everything it touches into something restaurant-worthy
  • It comes together in under 40 minutes but tastes like you spent all day cooking
02 -
  • Let your steaks rest at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking for even cooking
  • Do not crowd the pan or your shrimp will steam instead of sear
03 -
  • Invest in a good meat thermometer until you learn the touch test for doneness
  • Keep the butter cold until the very last second for maximum dramatic melting effect
