Green Smoothie Bowls (Printable)

Creamy green bowls of spinach, mango and banana topped with fruit, granola and seeds for a bright, nutritious start.

# What You Need:

→ Smoothie Base

01 - 2 cups fresh spinach (or kale)
02 - 1 frozen banana
03 - 1 cup frozen mango chunks
04 - 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any plant-based milk)
05 - 1 tablespoon chia seeds
06 - 1 tablespoon peanut butter or almond butter
07 - 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

→ Toppings

08 - ½ kiwi, sliced
09 - ½ cup strawberries, sliced
10 - ¼ cup granola (gluten-free if desired)
11 - 2 tablespoons coconut flakes
12 - 1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds
13 - Fresh mint leaves (optional)

# Steps:

01 - In a high-speed blender, combine spinach, frozen banana, frozen mango chunks, almond milk, chia seeds, nut butter, and honey or maple syrup if using. Blend on high until thick and completely smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
02 - Pour the blended green smoothie base evenly between two serving bowls, spreading it across the bottom to create a level surface for toppings.
03 - Decoratively arrange sliced kiwi, sliced strawberries, granola, coconut flakes, pumpkin seeds, and fresh mint leaves on top of each smoothie bowl in rows or clusters.
04 - Serve right away with a spoon while the smoothie base is still cold and thick. Enjoy before the toppings settle into the base.

# Expert Hints:

01 -
  • You can throw everything into the blender half asleep and still end up with something beautiful and nourishing.
  • The toppings turn an ordinary smoothie into something you actually want to sit down and eat with a spoon.
02 -
  • If your blender struggles with frozen fruit, let the banana and mango sit out for five minutes before blending.
  • The bowl thins out quickly as it sits so serve it right away or keep it in the fridge for no more than ten minutes.
03 -
  • Freeze your spinach in ice cube trays for even faster blending and a thicker result every time.
  • Use a high speed blender and start on low before cranking it up to avoid chunks of frozen fruit in your bowl.
